Very! What I loved was this part:

 > Echoworx, a closely held Toronto company, launched its new Secure Mail
 > service in January. The service is sold through Internet service providers,
 > including AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and BellSouth Corp., which
 > charge consumers $5 to $8 a month.

Considering that Verizon is one of the ISPs providing the federal gov't
with who-knows-what kind of data, the irony is astounding!

But what gets me is that the free software world hasn't integrated or come
up with a secure solution.

Sure, encrypting mail is available, but it's generally a kludge. The most
polished MUA for encryption I've seen is KDE's KMail.

Sure, SSL or encryption at the MTA is available, but that too is typically
a kludge.

With the state of gov't snooping now, this is a huge void that's waiting to
be filled. Heck, many would probably be willing to consider entirely new
mail protocols as long as there were hooks to SMTP.

 Regards,
 .

Fast fact: Canada used to have an average life expectancy lower than the US.
But now, after Canada adopted a national health care system, Canadians
outlive Americans by about 4 years and pay much lower health care costs.
