HB1197 Public Meeting

Chris, et. al.

Please pardon me if this has been addressed before, but I will not be able to
attend the meeting and I would like to send an email (or even real letter) to
this board with some ideas.

Your last email inspired me, because the "the mostly technology-unsavvy
committee members" might not grasp the fact that FOSS would allow LOCAL
high-tech people to help fix problems, not just someone at a long-distance
"contract" house. Red Hat and Novell have large development facilities in
Mass, with a considerable number of their employees living in New Hampshire.
In other words, FOSS inspires LOCAL high-tech employment, not just "installation
and integration" (although those jobs are available too).

Who should we write (or email) a reasonably well-worded document?
