Custom Distro

I found neither of these sites helpful at all.  There wasn't really
any technical documentation on either of them as to how this works, or
what my options are.

Short of douwnloading the packages an playing with this (something I
don't really have time to do) I couldn't really figure out why I need
this, or what it will do for me.

I have a pretty convoluted and heavily customized FAI environment
here, so I was looking for something to tell me why or how this would
be better.  I did not succeed :)
