Sveasoft violates the GPL to make money - don't support them. They add
new features into their 'testing' code and won't release their
modifications until after a long waiting period except to their
'private testers', defined as anybody with $20. If they were based in
the US it would be a clear violation of Copyright law, and hence the
GPL, since US Code defines 'distribution', not Sveasoft.

I like DD-WRT, based off a Sveasoft GPL release a while back:

   http://www.dd-wrt.com/

http://dd-wrt.gruftie.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/index.php?path=dd-
wrt.v23%2Fstandard/

from my router:

~ # which pppd
/usr/sbin/pppd

but it also has a PPTP server built in which might be easier to just
switch on in the GUI, depending on the project requirements. It uses
the Dropbear ssh client/server, which supports TCP port forwarding if
you're trying to do ppp over ssh, but it's not OpenSSH so check on
syntax/gotchas:

OpenWRT is the other project of interest here - more CLI and package
oriented at the moment. At this point DD-WRT:OpenWRT::Ubuntu:Debian.
