O.K......extremely strange

So I kept playing around with my disk and SuSE.

I made sure that /proc/bus/usb was mounted in /etc/fstab (and after /proc/
was mounted).  I also made sure it had "default" permissions, which included
"auto".

I also made sure that the kernel loaded the ehci_hcd driver by passing it to
the kernel at boot.

I typed in mod_load usb-storage just for added effect.

Then I plugged in the drive and it came up, with the proper id, Class, Sub-class
and everything....including the fact it was from LaCie and its name was
"BigDisk".

Hmmmm.

More testing needed.
