I recently bought a Viewsonic VX922 19" LCD with a 2ms response time. I think that for
TV and 3D applications response is very important. And this monitor has a reputation for
being bright, which is important in varied viewing areas.
And I purposely bought a monitor with no speakers.
As to price, I recommend Ebay, and look for "monitors new and still in the box". It will
be the manufacturer's warranty that will protect you for the most part.
