GRUB & RAID have me Stumped

Yes.

I've done this before, but for some reason, I can't seem to get thea
system to reboot once I've got all 4 drives in the RAID set.  I can
boot in the OS on /dev/sda and re-partition /dev/sd[bcd], create a
RAID set out of them, copy everything over to them, reboot onto
/dev/md0, and finaly repartition /dev/sda and merge it into the RAID
set.  But when I got to reboot again onto /dev/md0 with /dev/sda1 as
part of it, it fails to boot properly.

Occasionally I'll be left hanging at a the word GRUB (which I assume
is similar to LIL from LILO), but more often than not, it's the ascii
smiley face mocking me...
