If you want single-source reliability, buy a Sun. Or an Apple, I

Sun's Opteron servers look pretty good nowadays. There's an emphasis on low
power. If they're built as well as the Sparc based systems they're worth a
look.
* ob disclaimer - I haven''t uses Sun's non-sparc systems. I don't know how
well linux runs on them either. I have been using Solaris 10 on Sparc and
x86 side by side. They seem to act the same except for minor differences
(grub, X setup (sparcs just work))
