What to do when your Thunderbird freaks out

That reminded me I needed to compact my folders.  I went from a 
directory size of 780M to 550M.

At the start of the year I'll fold my inbox and RT mailboxes into 
InboxYYYY and RTYYYY.  It's a bit annoying for a few weeks while I try 
to remember which mailbox a an old e-mail is in, but by February it's 
mostly cleared itself out.

Thanks for the info, though.  I'll keep it in mind if tbird ever goes 
bonkers on me.
