I believe it means that Redhat is under severe attack, and I smell a
conspiracy. Especially with Oracle in the fray,

Agreed.

I'm more concerned about this being an "end-around" play where Microsoft
and Oracle will attempt to garner some IP from the whole thing.

Of course, this could be a protect-the-rear action if its determined
that Novell still owns all the IP that SCO claimed it had. Can you
believe the power Novell would have over both Microsoft and Oracle if it
came to light that *it* owned some key licensing rights to Unix? "Buying
into" Novell would make sense if this were true.
