good distro/instructions for soekris box?

I've got a soekris net4801, works great.

I started with a debian install on it then modified things until
writes to rootfs were completely eliminted under normal operation to
save the CF from failure.

Some kernel and boot patches are here, but I haven't documented the
userspace changes:
