Why must Comcast's DNS suck?

Nope, no warning at all.  It was really disruptive.  Even the town library was out
all day.  I had gone down there to use their systems as an alternative to get my mail.  I didn't need to make any changes to DNS servers though.  When they got done with the transition, everything was reachable again.
