If you can boot Knoppix (or install the partitioning tools into your  
existing Linux system), use partimage to snap an image of your  
existing partition, making a copy to your new drive or an external  
drive. Once you've got a copy, delete the original NTFS partition,  
use your partition editor of choice to create a new larger NTFS  
partition, then use partimage to restore to the enlarged partition.  
As Lloyd indicated, rebooting into Windows should cause chkdsk to run  
and validate the new size. Worked for me when I upgraded a machine in  
the office here this summer.
