In Bill's defence, he did a great job of teaching me to fly. (hmm, hope that's not considered an offense by some! :-)
although I've heard he reconsidered the lesson about never jumping out of a perfectly good airplane in flight - makes me wonder if his technical judgement is more stable? I guess it all comes under the heading of live and learn, along with PHP, Ruby, Python, AJAX, and all the other evolving technologies.
