Oracle endorses Red Hat by saying their distribution is best to run  
Oracle on. Oracle offers to provide an upstream version (badly  
renamed Unbreakable Linux) along with support at a discount, without  
a deep examination of how costly it is to run a distro. My prediction  
is that Oracle will poach few if any Red Hat customers, but that Red  
Hat will gain credibility in the eyes of a lot of big shops.

Disclaimer: I have a trivial investment in Red Hat stock, mostly so I  
get them to mail me their annual report. My investment in Red Hat  
should fund about 4 days (now 3 days) of my retirement.
