I find these scripts to be useful for myself.  (-:  So thanks!

But, no, my ${extended_family_member} does not run Linux, but instead
some variant of MacOS X.  If at all possible, I'd prefer not to
provide a solution that involves looking at diff output.  While I
would have no problem with this myself, my non-geek
${extended_family_member} probably will find this to be confusing.

Again, thanks for the scripts -- these seem to be generally useful!
