CD/DVD/ISO images, readcd adding extra bytes at EOF?

I find the command-line utilities for burning CDs and DVDs much easier to use 
and manage, especially after I write a few scripts around them. The GUI 
stuff just gets in the way and half the time simply does not work properly.

In fact, the command-line utilities works so well under Linux that on my 
dual-boot systems I prefer to burn CDs under command-line Linux than GUI 
Windows.
