  The problem with such a catch-all mailbox is that there are spammers
out there in the world trying dictionary and other brute-force attacks
against the user portion of the email address.  Catch-all mailboxes
can very quickly accumulate massive amounts of spam.  Aggressive spam
filtering can help counter that, but aggressive spam filtering is
often incompatible with other business needs (such as the ability to
receive unsolicited communications from potential new customers).
