  Come now.  That's a reasonable, pragmatic view of the situation.

  Ah-ha!  By those terms, POP and IMAP would be protocols which
connect an MUA to an MS (Message Store) -- specifically, a srMS
(server, recipient, Message Store).  In the common case of clients
sucking mail off a server, the MUA would store it in a urMS (user,
recipient, Message Store).  That clears everything right up!  ;-)

  Yup, as a junior admin at the Space Science Center.  It was a really
cool place to work.  I would have stayed if there had been a future
for me, but they were basically taking advantage of the large crop of
undergrads willing to work for cheap and no benefits.  Not that I
blame them.  :)
