Hacking the Razr 3m?

Looking at the "quick start" manual from Verizon for my new Razr 3m
phone, it seems they think it is basically a means to sell me their
content as opposed to a phone. So I suspect it has been programmed to do
only what serves this purpose.  Anyway, it has a USB port which suggests
it can be hacked to do other things.  Anyone have experience with this
phone and using it with Linux?  Being able to upload info would be very
nice.
