  Actually, my response was more like a desultory, goalless rant (very
similar to ESR's original post, in fact).  To be a proper flame, I
have to also call into question Paul's motives, intelligence, and --
preferably -- his ancestry.  The judicious use of vulgarity is
optional, but recommended.  ;-)

  My extensive use of the term "flamewar" in this reoccurring
discussion is a bit of ironic, self-deprecating humor.  It's meant to
be a reflection on just how incoherent and pointless these threads
tend to be in general, with my own posts in such being a prime example
of this.  It's also meant to flag the thread as having a particularly
low signal-to-noise ratio, to make it easy to killfile.

  At this point, the subject line has become something of an in-joke,
although I will concede I may be the only one "in" on it.

  Didn't you at least like my Star Wars parody?  I worked hard on that... :)
