One advantage of having the DL-604 plugged into the LAN side of the
LinkSys WRT54G is that all the firewall and router functions of the
LinkSys become irrelevant. You've got one big happy layer two LAN
now. The DL-604 is the only thing that matters when it comes to
router and firewall. This simplifies things quite a bit. If you're
having router, firewall, DHCP, or other issues of that nature, you
only have to look at the DL-604. The LinkSys only matters for
wireless bridge issues.
