What I am looking for is just disk space for a corporate web site that allows our marketing people to remotely access the site and make changes on our own. Ideally, I just want the hosting company to provide me with an IP address that I can put our DNS to. I don't want to turn over DNS to the hosting company, I don't want e-mail services, etc. Any suggestions?

I've had excellent service with ICDsoft.com. While you do have things
like email & DNS, you don't have to use them. For 1 GB space, the cost
is $72 per year. Nothing special there. Their uptime has been (nearly)
perfect for all the hosts I manage. The only connectivity issue ever was
due to an upstream provider breaching their SLA and ICDSoft kept me
thoroughly informed during the outage and provided a remediation plan
thereafter, so I have no complaints. Their tech support has been
superlative: correct answers within minutes (longest wait for 23
minutes, when there was an earthquake, for which they apologized!).
