Saving editable PDF forms?

There's a PDF sibling standard called FDF which contains data  
elements for PDF forms.  You might see if you can find something that  
lets you save your data into an FDF file and re-apply it to the PDF  
when you open it again.  If it's somebody in your environment you can  
probably come up with a script to mange the PDF and FDF files  
together for them.

Last time I played with this I was writing some proprietary back-end  
code to handle these files so I'm not sure what's available for  
client software.
