fyi...  I checked to see exactly where comments on the OOXML format should be directed.  Below is the reply I received.

The Draft International Standard (DIS) 29500, Information technology -- Office Open XML file formats, is presently out for consideration of all ISO Member Bodies, with a voting termination date of September 2nd.  A copy of the DIS may be obtained from ANSI's electronic store.

 

Comments may be submitted via email for consideration of the US Technical Advisory Group (TAG).  I am requesting, by copy of this email, Ms. Jennifer Garner at the office of the Administrator of the US TAG, InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS), to advise you of the date by which comments are required in order to be considered by the US TAG in development of the US position on DIS 29500.

 

The form, which is required by ISO when submitting comments, is attached.  Please use this form when submitting comments for consideration by the US TAG.  The form should be sent to Ms. Garner at jgarner at itic.org . 

 

Should you have any further questions regarding the procedure for submission of comments to ISO, please do not hesitate to contact me.
