It went pretty well. The crowd did seem to be up over last year,
and there was plenty of enthusiasm. Also, it seemed I was still
in time with the announcement -- there were a couple of folks from
GNHLUG who showed up.

We handed out all but one of our Red Hat caps, several flyers
cribbed from the wiki's front page, as well as several copies of
the OpenCD. Lots of good conversation about Linux -- one ham
told us of having put Ubuntu up for his wife on a WinME box that
had become polluted with popupware, and how it had been doing the
job perfectly for her ever since. (The classic mom-and-pop-don't-
care-about-the-OS story.) ALL of the young folks who stopped by
seemed to know about Linux...

P.S. Another anecdote tickled me. It was about a friend of a friend
who supposedly took someone's money to intall Vista on their PC.
He played a trick: installed Ubuntu instead of The Genuine Advantage,
told the client "you'll notice that it looks a little different from
XP, but overall it's a lot better". The client (supposedly) was
quite pleased with the new "Vista", until he returned the money and
'fessed up... :) Dunno if it's true, but it's a nice story.
