I've gone 5.25 + 3.5 floppies to CD.
DVDs are not as reliable for archiving as CDs.  And CDs can be read by DVD
players so there's little reason to migrate away from them yet.  Of course
4-5 CDs fit on 1 DVD so maybe it's easier to have 2-3 DVD copies in various
locations then CDs.
