DLTs are fragile.  They don't like to be dropped and like any magnetic
media, they self erase.

CDs and DVDs are a bit more robust and it's easier to keep them from light
then tapes from the earth's field.

Of course I only have 30 GB of photos and 30 GB of music to worry about
now.  Blu-Ray?
