Being able to run my entire ham shack (2 multi-band transceivers,
one of which is ~12-15 years old but does have a computer interface)
including the antenna rotor, during a contest using voice, morse code
(still very handy in crowded or weak signal conditions), or data (PSK31,
RTTY, etc.) and do all the logging, from my wireless laptop. I.e., the
"shack" would be down in the basement, and I'd be out on the veranda
if the weather was good, or in the den (if it was after bedtime for
everyone else). This entails, for the non-hams on the list, relaying voice
or keystrokes to/from the rig, as well as controlling the band/frequency
settings, power parameters, and other items.

An interesting variant would be to do it all without relying on AC power,
in a simulated disaster situation.

Knowing that the technology is now at my grasp, it will be a helluva lot
of fun to implement and integrate it! (Well, running WinLink 2000 under
Linux appears to be a daunting challenge, but...)
