Justed wanted to let folks know we had a board of directors meeting on
Saturday, the 3rd of November. (Maddog, Ben Scott and I also made a
morning fieldtrip to the New Hampshire Telephone Museum in Warner [1],
and that was a fun trip.)
Attending were all the board members except Bill Sconce (out of town
this weekend) and Heather Brodeur (who had to stay close to work this
weekend), so maddog, Ben Scott, Michael Kazin, Shawn O'Shea and I were
present for board members, and were joined by GNHLUG members Bill
McGonigle and new-to-NH (welcome!) Colman Kane.
Ben Scott was kind enough to record the meeting and offer to transcribe
the notes. He's posted them to the Organizational TWiki web [2] where
we'll be punching them into shape. We followed the agenda [3], and
mostly focused on getting ourselves registered as a non-profit with the
IRS. We're already registered with the State of New Hampshire. As anyone
who's been following the -org list has heard, Ben's been working through
the process of getting a bank account established.
After the old business, the discussion came around to projects GNHLUG
should be considering,a discussion we have often: install fests, hosting
a table at computer fairs, training classes, evening presentations, and
more. Stay tuned for some followups on those ideas.
