  Actually, I use FVWM.  It's about as completely customizable as you
can get (short of modifying source code), so I can tweak it to be
*just like* I want it.  It's keyboard friendly.  It's extensible, with
a large library of existing modules, plus a Perl interface for writing
quick scripts.  It lets me run a lightweight desktop that works the
way *I* want it to.

  But it also lets you run any sort of eye candy you want.  If you
want bling, it's there.  And you can mix-and-match, so if you like a
NextStep-style Wharf with Windows 95 window trim, yah, we got that.
And it's been updated to support things like modern WM hints, GNOME
hooks, or whatever you like.

  A Google Image Search for "fvwm" gives you a good idea of what one
can do with FVWM for bling:
