SugarCRM

We set up the free version without any real problems. Light use, so I
can't comment on really taking it through it's paces. But I also
haven't heard complaints. Comes with LDAP auth and actually does have
trouble tickets and other functionality in addition to the 'Salesforce
Automation' features. Still, in all the systems that are available, I
think it's fair to say that Sugar is like a Salesforce.com. It is
certainly nice (for me) that it's written in PHP and that it's
well-supported commercially. The community is large, but 'value-added
reseller' types so it didn't appear to me to be the typical
open-source community. I am hoping that we can get by with the free
version, but that remains to be seen.

I originally setup vTiger because they made it sound like a community
supported version of the same system. That was before I found out
that vTiger forked a while ago, and vTiger 5 is NOT the same as
SugarCRM 5. The UI, experience, navigation and general polish of
Sugar is better -- probably reflecting a better underlying system as
well.
