7:15  Introductory remarks

7:20  Real-Time and Linux
  	presented by Ed Haynes, Wind River Systems

       Ed will be speaking on Real-Time and Linux, doing a live
       demonstration of stock Linux vs. Linux with the preempt_rt
       patches. He will also show Wind River Commercial-Grade Linux: a
       rigorously tested and validated linux platform. Wind River has
       helped its customers develop sophisticated devices for 20 years,
       with more than 300 million deployed devices on its VxWorks
       platform.

       A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Ed specialized in
       communications and operations in the Navy until 1995. He then
       earned his Masters in computer science from University of
       Massachusetts and worked for GTE, where he led IP Stack
       development on the TACLANE inline network encryptor. At Nortel
       he spent 6 years specializing in IPv6 and lead a project
       transition to Linux. At Wind River he has worked with customers
       running Linux on everything from car navigation systems to
       medical devices to fusion reactors, helping them meet their
       embedded requirements with Linux.
