I use a combination of two things. For user login accounts, I use smbldap,
since we do maintain a Windows file-sharing interface for our main file
server and also need to allow many Windows machines to access it. For
accounts which don't need the Windows support, I find phpLDAPAdmin handy
enough to maintain the LDAP tree without hand-writing LDIF files.
