Happy Earth Day plus one. Help me keep some usable equipment out of the
waste stream!
Cleaning out an old office, we have 4 small UPSes to get rid of. Three
to five years old, bought as the weekly specials at Best Buy or Staples.
The batteries are pretty well shot on these, but replacement batteries
appear to be available cheaply. IIRC, these UPSes have a proprietary
interface, using 9-pin serial connectors. Cables included. Software
is/should be available on the CyberPower site for Windows and (maybe)
Mac, but FREE and Open Source Linux drivers did not appear to be
available when they were installed, only binaries.
Updated with new batteries, these might be an inexpensive solution for
running a single PC or to keep the alarm clock and answering machine
from blinking 12:00!
(Please confirm models and replacement batteries before ordering. I just
did a quick scan and might have models incorrect.)
Will deliver to a regular LUG meeting or make available for pickup in
Contoocook. Offer good for two weeks and then I'll try to give them away
on Freecycle, etc.
