We have 2 older Avocents where I work also. They cascade together so one
keyboard station controls all.
There's a dongle for USB, PS/2 or Sun. Standard cat5 cable connects it.
They run ~ $100 each.
Though it kills me when I see someone hook up a Sun when we have a terminal
server *sigh* and/or iLOM on the Sun.
We have the remote access client, DSview. Runs on Windows. Slowly. My
copy got fsck'd somehow and a remove/reinstall didn't fix it. Other then
slow, windows only, and breaking, it works well. I run it in a VirtualBox
VM just fine.
In 3 years, we've never had to reboot it.
