I've removed all the beepers on my UPS at home (with wirecutters). I run
apcupsd to get a clean shutdown and I already know when the power goes out.
At work, the UPS is in a locked closet/data center I remotely login to. My
monitoring is "noisier" and less annoying then the beeper.
