There's a 2.6.24.2 kernel in F8 updates-testing, if you feel like trying
a 2.6.24 kernel.
yum --enablerepo=updates-testing upgrade kernel

It went into rawhide just recently.

Or 'yum --enablerepo=development install b43-fwcutter'.
