I was in a Veritas class and the teacher was a Windows bigot. Veritas kept
it's configs in /etc in nice text files, even on Windows (NT 4 era). The
teacher said "..we're moving them to the registry where they belong on
Windows." Then he went on to explain the importance of backing up the
configs.
A little later, he explained backing up the registry in Windows and how it's
always open so it doesn't always backup clean but a utility called St
Bernard would help.
*sigh* He didn't even realize...
