General Procedure to get ATI/DRI card running?

Arc led me to believe that I did not have to do that yet. He said that
the drm did not support radeonhd yet.
Believe me, this is more complicated than I had anticipated... :)

Did you update to the latest development versions of mesa, drm,
dri2proto, xorg-server, and friends?
Also, you need to enable AIGLX in your xserver.
If you post your /var/log/Xorg.0.log after running an unsuccessful X
session, it will be easier to diagnose the problem.
