Stupid FF 3 question

OK, so I did an apt-get install firefox-3.0 on my Ubuntu machine. A 
little "information box" thing said I needed to restart my browser, so I 
did, but Firefox is still 2.x. I've also restarted my computer, and I 
still have firefox 2.x. What am I doing wrong here? Should I just 
download the tarball and unpack it whether Ubuntu wants it or what?
