Hi David,

I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop on my Dell Inspiron 7500 with an
Enterasys RoamAbout 802.11 DS PCMCIA card (it's old and only supports
a/b). The only thing I had to do was hold down the left mouse button on
the Network Manager icon in the top left to get a menu where I could
choose my wireless network. Most successful, in terms of everything
just working, Linux install I've ever done on a laptop.
Also check out this link:

Also, I was recently looking at the Inspiron laptop that Dell sells with
Ubuntu 7.10 pre-installed and it has the Intel Pro/Wireless 3945 ABG
(Centrino).

No thanks, I already have one! :-(
