Back when I used to work on CPE equipment I worked on a project whose
official codename was CFM where CFM stood for Cheap Fine Modem. It
was....challenging to work in such an environment. Generally the
boxes worked OK but if anything went wrong in the field the techs just
replaced the box.
Oh, by the way, if you think that the second word in the acronym
really was "fine", then I have a bridge that I'd like to sell you.
