Dammit, Kevin, I had to do Tech Support on those. :)

FWIW, the most frequent problem I've seen on PPPoE connections is MTU  
issues.  Keep dialing back the default MTU size until you hit the  
boundry the telco chose, and then all is good.  Binary search it for  
the fastest convergence.  I seem to recall there was an OS that made  
you reboot to adjust MTU...
