Phones for Asterisk and single-pair old phone wiring?

Maybe a branch office type solution would work?
Get your Norstar to take a bank of extensions and say "these are on another
PBX in our branch office" and spit them out. I've worked on Avaya and
Altigen systems like this. Hopefully Nortel supports some kind of trunking
that asterisk can work with (maybe another T1 port with something on the
wire that Asterisk understands). Then asterisk can just do VoIP for those
extensions in the new space and route all outbound calls through the Norstar
to the telco.
