I recently got 4 "1 TB" internal drives for a ReadyNAS NV+ at work.
They report as 931 GB and combine to 2793 GB in a RAID-X (RAID5 like).
You might not really have 1024 GB in your disks :-/
oblinux: the ReadyNAS runs Linux and a cross compiler is available to add
your own services.
