Mine doesn't work yet, so it's really quiet ;-)  All kidding aside,
when it is powered on, the fan noise is barely perceptible - so I'd
say it would work well in the Living Room.  The Studio Hybrid is a lot
quieter than my Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop, and probably more along the
lines of my ThinkPad T500 laptop (which I can't hear unless I stick my
head next to it.)
