Conducting GNHLUG business on Facebook (was Stop! Unix Time)

I'm tired of hearing people in the free software community whine about
Facebook.  There are a lot of programmers on this list.  If you feel
passionately enough about this to complain then let's build an alternative.
Otherwise, your griping only serves to withdraw energy for actually doing
something.

GNHLUG doesn't have a lot of energy being put into it right now.  Compare
the calendar today to last year - nothing but TBA and "open mic night".  I
remember last year was packed with presenters of interesting subjects.

If posting events on Facebook drums up more interest then it should be
used.  There always needs to be a balance between the pragmatic and the
philosophical, let the philosophy override pragmatism and you end up with a
group like GNU HURD.

Another alternative perhaps would be to step up to organize a GNHLUG social
event or presentation, then you can decide how to advertise and get people
excited about it.
