Hrm. I frequent most of the firewire mailing lists out there and haven't
heard of this either, that I can recall.
I have no clue offhand what's up, but of curiosity, which firewire is
this? The (really crappy) old ieee1394 stack, or the newer firewire
stack? RHEL5.2 shipped w/the newer one as a still somewhat immature tech
preview. 5.3 will be much improved (but no clue if its improved in any
way that would help you out). The old stack... can die in a fire.
If its the new stack, file a bug, we'll try to get it fixed. (nb: I'm
the RH/Fedora maintainer of libraw1394 and other firewire userspace
bits, and also do some firewire kernel driver work. :)
