Way to make Firefox appear to Website as IE6 ?

This is a somewhat desperate request... OK, not desperate, but I would
like to resolve this...

Most of my work these days is on my linux workstation doing large scale
simulations. In addition to straining my brain molecules, I need, on
occasion, to access my email. Unfortunately the interface is IE centric.
(Lotus Notes - please no groans...) I used to be able to connect to LN
thru a webmail interface. Sometime after June 26th (I was on vacation at
the time) the webmail interface no longer works on FireFox running under
Ubuntu 8.10.

When I enquired, I was told that Webmail only supports IE. My local IT
guy, who is quite sympathetic, but powerless against the IT Overlords,
tested the Firefox interface from Windows and found it "inoperable". (Just
like on the linux side...)

So does anyone have a solution or suggestion I could try? Is there a
module/plugin/addon or whatever that makes FF behave like IE6 to an IE
centric application or website? Searching on addons.mozilla.org wasn't
fruitful for me. Maybe someone has better search-fu ?

A different browser is not out of the question, although not preferred.
IIRC didn't Konqueror have an IE mode?
